7-Day Gold Paper Trading Challenge (XAUUSD)

Most traders skip practice and go straight to live gold — then blame “bad signals.” This 7-day paper trading challenge builds habits with zero risk. Use our free XAUUSD dashboard and a broker demo if you have one.

What you need

Day 1 — Learn the dashboard

Read how to read signals. Enable desktop alerts. Take zero trades — just watch BUY/SELL/HOLD change for one session.

Day 2 — Track every signal

Log each BUY/SELL that fires. Mark whether price hit TP or SL first (rough eyeball is fine). Note probability % at entry.

Day 3 — Only high-probability setups

Paper trade only signals with 75%+ on the winning side. Skip borderline setups. Goal: quality over quantity.

Day 4 — Session discipline

Trade only during your chosen 2-hour window. No revenge trades outside the window. Compare results to Day 2–3.

Day 5 — Risk rule drill

Pick a fixed “risk unit” (e.g. 1% of demo balance per trade). Never move stop loss further away. Stop after 2 losses.

Day 6 — Review confluence

Open How It Works and match losing trades to weak factors (low ADX, against EMA, etc.). Write one lesson.

Day 7 — Score yourself

Calculate: win rate, average R:R, best session, worst mistake. If win rate < 45% or rules were broken often, repeat the week before live money.

After 7 days

Share your stats with a friend or trading community for accountability. If results are stable, consider minimum-size live trades — not before.

Educational challenge only — not financial advice. Paper results do not guarantee live performance.
